Blizzard’s New MMO A Sci-Fi FPS?

The latest rumour on Blizzard’s new MMO is that the company is developing a futuristic FPS game with an MMO side.

According to French site, NoFrag, who quotes an inside source, the game will have two elements; a social area where players can meet up, comparing The Sims Online, and the other part which will be the combat zone, presumably in an FPS style.

This would be in line with previous statements from Blizzard that the IP would be completely different from its existing games, and also with the fact they the company appears to be hiring for a Sci-Fi MMO.We’ve talked about Blizzard’s new project quite a bit here at IncGamers, starting of with the news that company executives seemed mighty interested in Global Agenda at an E3 booth back in June last year. Global Agenda is a futuristic “Spy-Fi” MMO that goes live next month, featuring combat that resembles the FPS genre more than traditional MMOs. You can find out more about that in our recent interviews with GA developers (part one, part two), and if you’re keen to give it a try, the open beta started this week.

Thanks Blues.
