Bloodstained Kickstarter nearly triples its goal in one day

Koji Igarashi’s return to Metroidvania games has proven rather popular, with the Kickstarter nearly hitting $1,500,000 in one day.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night opened up on Kickstarter yesterday, seeking $500,000. At the time of writing it’s sitting on $1,427,274, which – if I can do some basic multiplication correctly – is nearly triple what was initially asked for.

Bloodstained‘s request for $500,000 wasn’t just to fund the game; it was to prove to an unnamed partner that there was a genuine desire for this game, at which point said partner would kick in more funding. With the game having already broken every stretch goal revealed (including two new ones – cheat codes, and local co-op) I’d say it’s probably managed that quite admirably.

If you want to know more about Bloodstained, you can either check out our initial post about it or you can head on over to the Kickstarter page itself.
