Borderlands 3 Vault Insider Program shut down May

Borderlands 3’s Vault Insider Program shutting down this May

Farewell, traveler.

If you’ve been playing Borderlands 3, you’re probably familiar with the Vault Insider Program. It provides a number of goods through linking together accounts and unlocking stuff within the game. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to take part in it for too much longer.

Gearbox confirmed today that it will shut down the program as of May 18 around 11:59 p.m. PT. At that point, you won’t be able to earn any more free goodies. The company advises fans to spend all of their VIP points before that time, because they’ll be scuttled away if they aren’t used.

As for why the program is ending, Gearbox noted that since it’s “well past launch” with the game, it wants “those kinds of rewards to be available to as many players and fans as possible.” So, the random giveaways are being done away with.

So what will Gearbox offer now in place of the Vault Insider Program?

At this time, the company didn’t have anything to confirm to replace it. However, with PAX East 2020 around the corner, it might have something new lined up to keep fans happy.

Borderlands 3‘s VIP Insider Program, found here, has provided a great way for fans to collect goods for their characters. They’ve been able to spin The Weaponizer to get their hands on some amazing in-game loot. Here’s hoping that the publisher has a program set up in the future to keep rewarding players.

As a fond farewell to send off the program in style, Gearbox has offered up a Borderlands 3 in-game code to unlock 10 Golden Keys. You can find it below.

This will only be active for a limited time, so you might want to jump on it sooner rather than later.

Borderlands 3 is available now on the Epic Games Store. Miss out on the action? Then check out its launch trailer above.
