Boulder Dash XL Announced

Boulder Dash has a history stretching back to 1984, when it appeared on various home systems looking a little something like this.
Now, a joint development team of Catnip Games (who brought Boulder Dash Rocks to the DS and PSP) and First Star Software (the game’s original creators) are working on Boulder Dash XL for the PC and Xbox LIVE Arcade. Naturally enough, it’ll look a bit more HD than the Atari version linked up there, and will feature “over 150” all-new falling rock puzzle challenges.
Multiple modes of play are also promised: puzzle, time challenge, arcade and “zen.” Achievements and a fresh scoring mechanism will also be included for those who are rightfully pursuing high scores. As yet, no release date is confirmed.
Mine the rich depths of “below” for some screenshots.
