Arma 3

Bohemia Interactive has squeezed in a pre-E3 update to the ongoing Arma 3 alpha, which adds a set of equipment for all the budding snipers out there. In the hills. Somewhere. Seriously, where are you guys?

Since I’m not exactly familiar with the technical specs of these virtual weapons, I’ll let Bohemia do the heavy descriptive lifting:

The first rifle, the Gepard GM6 Lynx, is a semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle using 12.7×108 mm ammo. Its purpose is to stop or disable targets such as light armored vehicles, armored rifle troops, light shelters and helicopters from 600–800 m range.

The second weapon, the M320R Long Range Rifle, is a .408 caliber sniper rifle, valued for its accuracy up to 2000 meters.

As well as those guns, there are a couple of ghillie suits, sniper optics and special ‘rangefinder’ binoculars to mess about with.

Remember, you can buy-in to the Arma 3 alpha at any time and receive continual updates to the game, up to and beyond its final release state. Like all of the updates, this sniper one will be deployed automatically through Steam.
