With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players having been diving in for some blockbuster action and intense multiplayer sessions. As part of your progression, you are not only racking up kills and wins, but also weapon XP. However, for some segments of the community, this has been a frustrating point of late. The rate for earning weapon XP was too slow, and Treyarch has heard you. The developer boosted the earn rates for weapon XP permanently with the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War patch.
This applies across both multiplayer and Zombies mode. A bug that has been plaguing solo players in Zombies mode has also been squashed. Now you will gain the same amount of weapon XP in the mode while playing alone.
Meanwhile, the grind to get all the weapon attachments and camos has been a tough one. While getting kills is all part of the game, players clearly want to be rewarded at a reasonable pace. Before the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War patch, things were just moving way too slow. This is especially apparent when compared to the other aspects of progression, like player levels.
Speeding things up
With the new update, things will hopefully move at a better pace. While Treyarch has not shared explicitly just how much more weapon XP can be earned at the new rates, it won’t take too long for the community to figure it out.
There will also be more double XP events taking place throughout December, so get yourself ready. This is in order to make up for lost time for players who experienced a bug that decreased weapon XP earned during the Thanksgiving weekend.
Nevertheless, players will now have an easier time after this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War patch. With the Nuketown 24/7 playlist in rotation, it is time to put some fools down and earn yourself more rewards.
