With the nonstop onslaught of Call of Duty games that come annually, you will be forgiven for wanting some of that classic goodness back in the day. Sure, the style of modern warfare is not everyone’s cup of tea, but you cannot really argue with the success and popularity for Call of Duty: Warzone. However, a consolation of sorts has been spotted, as a leak suggests that a shotgun from the past is making its way into the present.
A new Call of Duty: Warzone leak shows a clip with the AA-12 automatic shotgun from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in action. This comes via notable leaker BKToor (h/t Dexerto), who shared the clip. The video shows a rough demo of the shotgun in the Verdansk stadium, but it is clear that the gun is not yet finished. The AA-12 in-game model lacks a texture, and other details are also missing. For example, it features the firing audio but nothing for reloading animations. However, the tweet did indicate that is is the “first gameplay” of the returning firearm. The power of an automatic shotgun could be significant, even if it comes with the high recoil shown in this Call of Duty: Warzone leak.

Pros and cons
The arrival of an automatic shotgun may not be what most players are looking forward to. It will carry less threat at range than most weapons. However, unleashing shot after shot up close will make short work of anyone unfortunate enough to cross its path. The damage it will do is still unknown at this moment. We also do not know if this supposedly new addition is for Call of Duty: Warzone or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It could very well be in the early stages of balance testing in the clip.
Nevertheless, players invested in either Call of Duty: Warzone or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare should keep watch. Perhaps the AA-12 automatic shotgun will be a new addition in the new season.
