Call Of Duty Warzone Replaces Regular Bounty With Most Wanted Contract, Upsetting Fans (1)

Following the release of the latest patches for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone, it seems that not all is well with the community for the battle royale audience. Despite getting the much-requested feature of being able to drop their weapons as and when they like, a new change made by developers Infinity Ward has stirred up some resentment. The developers have removed the classic Bounty Contract from Call of Duty: Warzone and replaced them with the Most Wanted Contract. This has not sat well with fans.

An inferior replacement

The latest update, live now, introduces Most Wanted as a new contact. It designates your team as the target for every other team in-game. If you can survive, you can revive all down teammates immediately. In a game like Call of Duty: Warzone, that can easily be a gamechanger. However, in adding this new contract, Infinity Ward has removed the standard Bounty Contract from the game completely.

Reactions from well-known streamers have been of condemnation for the change. Ninja felt that the balance between those hunting and the hunter was great, and that it was “high risk and reward”. Tyler Polchow, or teepee, saw the change as “a very very bad decision,” and he is “not happy at all about it.”

Even Call of Duty League shoutcaster Joe “Merk” Deluca had some comments regarding the removal. The inherent risks of the Most Wanted Contract far outweigh the benefits it brings. Not only does it mark your team as the target for all, but the time it takes can also be substantial. The Bounty Contracts, on the other hand, helped speed up the game and increased cash flow for teams.

Infinity Ward has not commented on the outrage, nor given a reason as to why the removal was necessary. However, with their penchant to listen to the community, this change to Warzone will likely be overturned sooner rather than later.
