The Call of Duty: Warzone experience is all about eliminating other players and standing on the top of the mountain of bodies at the end of every round. However, sometimes, it can be tiresome just trying to overcome constant glitches or worrying about the best weapons to pick up. Thankfully, it appears something different is indeed coming to the battle royale. A new leak has surfaced, with narration lines pointing towards a casual sandbox mode coming to Call of Duty: Warzone.
Not only are players potentially getting an area to do whatever they want, but there will also be races, obstacle courses, and even a minigame. As shared by ZestyCODLeaks, the audio narration definitely makes things clear. One of the announcers is telling players to explore the various activities around a vast area of operation.
Additionally, there are safe zones where weapons cannot be used, so you will be safe from any annoying griefers. This is so you can enjoy the variety of activities that might include:
- Obstacle courses
- Time trials
- Vehicle races
- Shooting courses
- Competitive control point minigame
- Parkour activity
- Something to do with helicopters
Based on this Call of Duty: Warzone leak, it would definitely be a huge departure from the standard experience. Similar to how Fortnite gives players a break with the creative mode, this might just be the casual game mode you need to enjoy the battle royale even more.
If you participated in 2020’s Modern Warfare Games of Summer event, a few of the activities in the sandbox mode should be quite familiar. There were also shooting courses and a parkour trial back then. Those will likely see a return this time around as well.
Whether this will be a full mode that gets fleshed out or is just a limited-time event remains to be seen. Nevertheless, it is a good step towards changing expectations about Call of Duty: Warzone. There will always be some players who need a distraction after intense rounds of combat.
The sandbox mode is not all that was part of the Call of Duty: Warzone leak. The rest of the audio dump had lines referring to a plague mode with zombies. This might be the sendoff many have been expecting for the Verdansk map.
For a majority of the community, the impending zombie outbreak coming to Warzone is the best way to introduce a brand new map into the battle royale. This might be the case, or the zombies are getting their own share of the meat pie in Call of Duty: Warzone.
The audio lines also emphasized the last chance to save Verdansk from the map getting overrun. Plenty of bodies is not good, especially when a plague is involved. There are also calls to run flee and exfiltrate. Either we are going to make a successful stand against the undead, or we are going to leave Verdansk for good. This would be a good way to introduce a new map into the game.
For now, all we have are leaked audio files. Once official confirmation is in, we will be sure to let you know.
