Sons of the Forest is the follow-up to the highly acclaimed survival game The Forest, which was released into Early Access in 2014 and given a full release in 2018. In these games, survival is the main goal, and building is a key aspect of your survival. One of the many things you can build in these games are structures for the player to live on or in, which are imperative to fending off the cannibals that await you on the islands of these games. Something that was buildable in the first The Forest game was a boat. Naturally, we have to wonder: can you also build a boat in Sons of the Forest? Read on to find out more.
Does Sons of the Forest let you go sailing on a boat?
Sadly, you cannot currently build a boat in Sons of the Forest. In the original game, you could build yourself many different types of boats, including a Small Raft, Large Raft, and a House Boat. The House Boat in particular was a useful tool due to the nature of it being a shelter and a movable boat. Therefore, I understand that may be something you expect to also be able to build in Sons of the Forest. As of writing, however, you cannot build a boat in Sons of the Forest.

Considering that Sons of the Forest is currently still in Early Access, and only just released into it, mind you, there is still a chance that boats could be coming in a later update. It’s likely the developers are planning to add features in as time progresses and they finish them. Time will only tell, but, for now, Sons of the Forest does not feature a boat you can build.
