CCP guts World of Darkness MMO team

Bad news for those awaiting CCP’s World of Darkness-based MMO, as the company announces major staff reductions.
The Eve Online developer today revealed that it would be letting go “around twenty percent” of its employees. “Developing Eve expansions, DUST 514 and World of Darkness has stretched our resources too thin,” the CCP statement says.
From this point, the company will be focusing on “strengthening the continuous development of Eve Online while preparing to bring DUST 514 to market on the PS3”.
World of Darkness is the unfortunate odd game out, which will see “a significantly reduced team”. A sad state of affairs for a title that has been in development for close to five years now.
CCP states that Eve Online is in “good health” and claims that the World of Darkness MMO project “lives on”, but that the developer needs a lot more time “before dedicating the substantial resources required to bring this experience to market”.
So it’s unlikely that we’ll be prancing about in our Toreador capes or skulking around as Nosferatu any time soon.
