Champions Online: Blood Moon, Retcon Changes

Cryptic Studios has announced the first update to its newly released MMO, Champions Online; Blood Moon. The evil necromancer Takofanes has appeared, summoning zombies in Canada, which can infect players who fall in battle against them, making them come back as a zombie themselves. Werewolves also roam the land in packs, threatening to infect characters with their own dark magic. Meanwhile, Millennium City is revisited by Heroes that fell in the Battle of Detroit. Players must free them from Takofanes’ grip.Blood Moon will also introduce the new Celestial powerset, which allows players to heal or buff other heroes, or to do damage. In addition to this exciting news, last night Cryptic changed the way characters alter their powers in the game with another patch.Players affected by the recent changes in the launch day patch were unhappy that retcon costs were too high, but Cryptic has tweaked things. The system now works differently, and it is now possible, regardless of level, to completely retcon characters from start to finish. See Cryptic’s full post on the forums for more details.
