Champions Online: Free Retcons Announced

Cryptic Studios has announced that it is awarding free retcons to Champions Online players that were part of the Early Start program. Many players complained when a patch was applied to the game when it launched in the US earlier this week. The patch changed the the damage caused by henchman and lowered the defence on characters. The changes were not announced in advance, so players who had access to the game through the Early Start program couldn’t take the new figures into account when choosing skills. The cost of retcons are quite high, and they argued that Cryptic should give them a free chance to reset their skills.Yesterday, Cryptic did just that, announcing that any characters created in the head-start period will receive a free retcon.“We are currently working on a system to issue this retcon to early start characters. As soon as we have the technology in place to do so, we’ll let you know. Thank you all for supporting the game through the first few days of the launch.”Read the full announcement on the official Champions site, and don’t forget to check out our Champions content wrap-up.
