Champions Online: State of the Game Report

Champions Online developer WishStone has updated fans on the progress of the game, detailing some of the upcoming changes.

WishStone goes into the combat system, and the mechanics behind a hero’s power. In Champions, Cryptic wants to do away with the traditional combo point style combat:

“By focusing on certain characteristics and types of items, players can design characters that rely less and less on the concept of using smaller attacks to lead to bigger attacks. We’re really starting to dive head first into the balance and pacing of this to make sure it’s both a good game play mechanic and also really fun.”

He also touches on the amount of time the translation for localisation takes,  a new in-game twitter feed, faster re-spawns for popular areas, the progress of the Nemesis storyline and the addition of more patrol missions in the dessert and Canada zones.
