New Children Of Morta dlc Arrives For A Worthy Cause (2)

The roguelite Children of Morta was an awesome experience, which pitted a family against an ever-encroaching darkness that threatened to run amok. Now, those guardians are taking aim at another good cause. 11 Bit Studios and Dead Mage will raise funds for the Humane Society International charity. This will be done via new Children of Morta DLC, namely, the Paws and Claws DLC.

This new DLC will add a variety of adorable animals to the game. The likes of deer, foxes and all sorts of birds will join the Bergsons. There will also be a new Animal Shelter system. Of course, nothing will stop these animals from wandering about. Players can observe them either in the shelter or in the woods.

If you can keep them satisfied, indicated by their happiness levels, you stand to gain some bonuses. Feed them treats obtained from dungeon runs and they can become Happy, Excited, or Overjoyed in addition to being Normal. Their moods will add bonuses to your Critical Chance, Movement Speed, XP Gain, Dodge Chance and even Luck.

All of the proceeds from this Children of Morta DLC will go to Humane Society International. The charity aims ”to promote the human-animal bond, rescue and protect dogs and cats, improve farm animal welfare, protect wildlife, promote animal-free testing and research, respond to natural disasters and confront cruelty to animals in all of its forms.” Seems like a perfect fit.

All for a worthy cause

Paws and Claws is the kind of content that embraces the meaningfulness that we’re often pouring into our games,” producer Karol Kala explained. “Animals are a big part of the original Children of Morta story, so enriching relationships with them in the game felt natural. And collaborating with an organization like Humane Society International perfectly fits 11 bit studios’ mindset since we believe that a company producing meaningful games should also act meaningfully.”

There is also a new Treasure Pack update that is free for Children of Morta. It will add six new Divine Graces, eight new Consumables, and 12 Divine Relics. These items will surely work well with the new Children of Morta DLC.
