China’s WoW CBT May Be Extended

The closed beta test of World of Warcraft in China may be extended while the government continues its checks of the MMO.

The hit online game was taken offline when NetEase took over the operator’s licence from The9 in June this year. It is still offline, but NetEase recently indicated players would be back ingame after a short beta test while the last of the game’s approvals went through.

However, it seems another delay is on the cards, as a NetEase spokesman confirmed a new version of the game was sent in for approval recently, but hopes WoW will be up and running soon.
