Compete in the Fortnite Fishing Frenzy this weekend

Rods at the ready.
Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest Brought To You By Triggerfish

If you thought the point of battle royale was to kill everyone else on the map to be the last person standing, you’d be right. But not this weekend in Fortnite. From 8 a.m. ET on Friday, November 22 until 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 24, players can compete to be the ultimate fish catcher in the Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest.

The finest fishers at the end of the weekend will win themselves a Bottom Dweller pickaxe and a real-life Llama Trophy courtesy of Triggerfish. A Triggerfish is this guy (or girl) below. Players will be able to hook the Triggerfish skin from the Item Shop from the start of the Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest.

Size doesn’t matter

Each server (with NA East and West being combined into one) will have a winner in each category. The first category is Top Angler. The winner of this category will be the player who catches the most fish in a single match during the Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest. The next category is the Small Fry Champion. This will be awarded to the player who catches the most Small Fry throughout the whole competition, not just one match.

Similarly, the Flopper Champion winner will be the player who catches the most Flopper during the entire competition period. And last but not least, the player who catches the most Slurpfish during the competition will be crowned the Slurpfish Champion. All of these champions will win a real-life engraved Llama Trophy. And that’s pretty damn cool.

Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest Real Life Llama Trophy

This is probably one of the coolest trophies in gaming. How much do you think you could buy one for?

Additionally, during the Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest, anyone who catches a Mythic Goldfish will be awarded a Bottom Dweller pickaxe. And anyone who participates in the contest over the course of the weekend will get a Play to Win spray. It’s certainly not as prestigious as a Llama Trophy or in-game skin, but it’s nice to have.

Do what you’ve got to do

To participate in the Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest, all you need to do is pick up a Fishing Rod and cast away. Fishing with the Harpoon Gun is for lazy people and will not qualify you for the contest. You also need to make sure you’ve enabled Two-Factor Authentication to be eligible for the contest and its prizes.

You can keep track of all the top anglers and see how you measure up via the leaderboards. The leaderboards will be updated to show the top 10 players in each category at 12 p.m. ET every day. Here are the links to all the leaderboards: North America, Oceania, Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Brazil. Seems like Epic Games has forgotten the entire continent of Africa exists.

The wildly successful battle royale Fortnite (and it’s zany side events) is available for free on PC from the Epic Games Store.
