I’m not sure how I feel about Paradox moving away from their traditional ‘man doing a voiceover while we look at a map of Europe’ approach to Crusader Kings II trailers. True, they weren’t very exciting, but they were real, damnit. And rather quaint too.
In this new ‘seven deadly sins’ series of videos, the developer is adding a touch of live-action and (gasp) comedy to the promotional preceedings. It’s not the sort of thing I expect from massively in-depth medieval strategy titles, but actually it does a pretty decent job of explaining the multi-level scheming you can indulge in with the game. Plus, you know, it’s probably a better way of trying to sell it.
Not that I can really talk on the subject of complex plots to get hold of copious amounts of gold; my main problem when I previewed the game was just having a kid (look, shut up, it can happen to any royal couple).
