There’s been a bit of a media blowout on Crysis 2.We’ve got new screenshots, new concept art, and a new video, all of which can be seen below, in addition to the news that the story will be written by award-winning author Richard Morgan – he of Altered Carbon and Broken Angels fame.”Video games are one of the only things in my life I would qualify as a complete addiction,” said Morgan. “The medium has every bit the potential for exciting and emotionally charged storytelling as literature and film, and I’m excited to explore this format on my first project in partnership with a world class developer like Crytek.”Crysis 2 is set in a New York that’s under attack by a smart and dangerous alien species. Following the events of the first game, the aliens are back with a proper invasion force and a strong desire to wipe humanity off the face of the planet. Aliens are walking New York’s streets, a plague is devastating humanity, and the military is all but powerless.In amongst all of this is you, with the Nanosuit 2. Good, no?Crysis 2 uses CryENGINE 3 tech and as such is due out on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 around Christmas.
