Here are some important picks:

High Noon +4% crit chance with handguns (3 ranks) 1
Rio Bravo +10% headshot damage multiplier for handguns (3 ranks); this is an extremely helpful passive skill 5
A Fistful of Eurodollars +10% damage with handguns (2 ranks) 11
Attritional Fire +10% damage on the same target when you fire consecutive shots 14
Brainpower +25% crit chance for 5 seconds after a headshot 20

The Handguns perk awards an extra perk point at levels 3, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, and 18. The remaining level-ups confer boosts to crit damage, crit chance, and recoil reduction.
