Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed once again, developer CD Projekt RED confirmed this morning. It will miss its September 17 release by two months, and will now come out mid November. The reason for its latest delay is quite simple: it’s not ready yet, according to the Tweet posted by the company. Cyberpunk 2077 is now scheduled to ship on November 19.
Back in March, there were concerns over COVID-19 and how it was affecting game development. Many companies had begun sending their employees home to work on games in safety. CD Projekt did the same, allowing its team members to work remotely. However, the developer also explained that Cyberpunk 2077 was still on schedule for a September launch. It reiterated this message later in April.
That has now changed. In the message the company released today, there was no mention of any struggle due to issues brought by the pandemic. Instead, CD Projekt RED explained the game will be “Ready when it’s done.”

Delay me baby one more time
This is the second delay to hit Cyberpunk 2077. It missed its initial launch set for April — which the developer announced this January. The release time was moved to September 17. Now, the game won’t see the light of day until (probably) November 19. At least it’s still set for this year. There’s hope yet.
At the time we are writing these words, Cyberpunk 2077 is finished both content and gameplay-wise. The quests, the cutscenes, the skills and items; all the adventures Night City has to offer — it’s all there. But with such an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs. A huge world means a huge number of things to iron out and we will spend the additional time doing exactly that.
The Cyberpunk 2077 event, Night City Wire, is still on schedule for June 25.
