I have absolutely no idea what relation this game bears to its predecessor, but Daedalic Entertainment have announced Silence: The Whispered World 2.
If you recall, The Whispered World focused on a clown called Sadwick in a fantasy world, who suffered recurring nightmares of said fantasy world falling apart. Conversely, Silence: The Whispered World 2 revolves around a teenager named Noah and his sister Renie. A CG trailer (which you can see below) shows them playing in a snowy landscape until they spot an air raid, at which point they take shelter from the bombs in a bunker. According to the press release, Noah loses his sister in the real world and hopes to find her again in the dreamworld of Silence. So… maybe that’s the relation? I don’t know. I didn’t play The Whispered World, I’m afraid.
You can have a gander at the CG trailer for yourself below (which, alas, appears to be exclusive to GameTrailers), as well as a smattering of screenshots which actually appear to be captures from said trailer. Silence: The Whispered World 2 is due out in late 2014.
Tim has been playing PC games for longer than he’s willing to admit. He’s written for a number of publications, but has been with PC Invasion – in all its various incarnations – for over a decade. When not writing things about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning some really terrible ones, getting very angry at people in Dota 2, or playing basically anything that’s not a hardcore simulation or sports game. He’s also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man’s only professional games journalist.
