Get ready to YOU DIED again: the first bit of DLC for Dark Souls 2, Crown of the Sunken King, is now out.

Crown of the Sunken King sees you delving into ancient underground pyramids in search of one of the lost crowns that contain the strength of lords. You will almost certainly find things trying to kill you, ranging from poison-spitting statues to mobile poison-spitting statues. And also spider beasts and all sorts of other monsters and bosses. It apparently contains two routes through, one of which is a “challenge route” intended for co-op play.

Crown of the Sunken King can be bought stand-alone for £7.99, or as part of the Dark Souls 2 season pass for £19.99. The season pass will also offer two more bits of DLC – Crown of the Old Iron King and Crown of the Ivory King – which are due to be released on 26 August and 23 September, respectively.

Our own Peter Parrish is currently YOU DIED-ing his way through Crown of the Sunken King, and I imagine he’ll be writing up a review on it very soon.
