Diablo’s David Brevik launches new game It lurks Below into Early Access

Diablo creator David Brevik (Greybeard Games) has finally launched his new game called It lurks Below into Early Access.

Brevik has been testing the game with a small pool of beta testers for the past couple of months and has also been sharing development progress through numerous live streams.

Brevik has taken inspiration from Diablo’s RPG elements, Terraria and Minecraft to create this action-oriented survival-RPG. Players have to lead their customisable heroes randomly generated underground dungeons full of endless evil. While it’s by no means a new Diablo, It Lurks Below does fuse together key elements from some very popular games. Expect random loot, character skills, leveling up, and of course boss fights.

“At the Game Developers Conference last month, I talked to a lot of indie developers who recommended doing Early Access through Steam – they basically said I’d be crazy not to do it,” says Brevik. “I’m flattered by the overwhelmingly positive response to the closed betas and my personal streams of It Lurks Below so far. I read every piece of feedback I receive, and I value any additional thoughts players may have before I finalize the game for its official release. Which of course is…‘Soon.”

The game will be available today for $19.99 and it is expected to get a full release later this year. Brevik will be showing off the game at the following times today if you want to check it out.

  • Today, April 24: 11:00 a.m. PDT until 1:00 p.m. PDT
