DayZ could be coming to a console near you

If the standalone PC edition of ArmA II mod DayZ is successful enough it could make its way to console.

The creator of the DayZ mod Dean “Rocket” Hall, who is also the project lead on the standalone version, confirmed the possibility.

“You’re not going to put it on the consoles if you’re only going to sell 100,000 units or something like that,” said Hall.

DayZ will be driven by its PC development and it will innovative on that. And, once we’re at a point, we’ll take it and do a Mac version, 360 and PS3.”

Hall has suggested that the standalone DayZ will support modding (although not from launch day), but given the way the current set of console work that’s unlikely to be an option outside of the PC.
