Dead Island Logo Is A No-Go In US

Dead Island’s hanging corpse logo will not feature on the US box art after publishers Deep Silver were asked by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) to remove it.
This is a touch unfortunate, as the hanging corpse forms the letter “I” in the game’s logo (pictured.)
In a statement sent to IGN, the ESRB defended the decision saying: “We never censor or dictate in any way what type of content can be included within a game. However, a game’s marketing materials are seen by an audience that is much broader than that which actually purchases the game itself, so we enforce industry-adopted guidelines as to what is suitable for inclusion in these materials.”
In-keeping with this message, the logo will remain unchanged in-game. The US box art will instead have a roaming zombie forming the “I” of Island.
