Dead Island ships 2 million, Mortal Kombat does 3 million

Biting and fighting popular this year.
According to their respective publisher’s, Dead Island and Mortal Kombat are doing rather well. Deep Silver today confirmed that Dead Island has shipped more than a 2 million in North America alone since its release last week.
Our own review of Dead Island described it as somewhat of a ‘B-game’ that’s “technically bad” but that “it’s entertaining enough to see through to the end.”
Over in the Warner Bros. part of town, Mortal Kombat (9) has surpassed the 3 million mark since its launch this past April. That figure makes it the best selling fighting game of the year in North America.
This all prompted Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon to say: “The game was a labor of love for us and we could not be more pleased with its performance. Fan reaction to this latest instalment has made all of our hard work worth it.”
