Completing Challenger’s Proving III and Battleground: Oracle in Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen

To start the Challenger’s Proving III quest and Battleground: Oracle activity in Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen, simply visit the HELM Command Center and check the War Table. Pick up the quest, then open the director tab on Nessus for the Battleground: Oracle activity.

One section of this run has you defending Ghost while it’s hacking a Vex pillar. Multiple Cabal waves will be spawning here and you can pick up some of the hacking codes to slightly speed up the process. It’s similar to that section in the Cleansing map in the Cosmodrome.

Next up, you’ll be fighting Vex mobs. These include three shielded wyverns. To break these shields, defeat more enemies until a major/champion spawns. Take out these foes since they’ll drop a bomb charge.

Much like Behemoth and Hailstone, you’ll need to throw these orbs. The only difference now is that you’ll need to throw them directly at the wyverns.

After the three wyverns are downed, follow the minimap’s directions until you reach the boss encounter. Your target in Battleground: Oracle is a Cabal psion, one who loves running around endlessly. The boss even has a lightning strike spell similar to those you’ve fought in the Sundial activity during Season of Dawn.

As usual, each segment of the boss’ health that you deplete activates its shield. Take out the champions that spawn to remove the shield, then continue nuking the boss.

When you’re done with Battleground: Oracle, your next task is to socket a rune into your Hammer of Proving. Then, start the Battlegrounds playlist and reach the end. Smash a Tribute Chest, get your rewards, and return to the HELM Command Center.

Listen to Osiris’ and Crow’s conversation, then inspect the War Table to pick up your Umbral Engram. This will complete the Challenger’s Proving III quest. Don’t forget to check your seasonal challenges tab since week 3 has tallies that you can finish, including the one for Challenger’s Proving III.
