Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity guide – Encounter #1
Let’s talk about the first encounter in the Dares of Eternity activity in Destiny 2. Just to be clear, I’ve only fought a couple of enemy races here due to the wheelspin RNG.
Hive version
At the start, you’ll clear out several mobs. Eventually, you’ll see giant Hive Knights called Xur’s Wellkeepers. After killing them, a small patch on the ground coated with green mists will be created. Step on these to gain a temporary buff. This will let you damage the purple crystals with your weapons.
Cabal version
There will be Cabal Centurions called Bombtenders. They can be killed normally, causing them to drop an orb. The orbs will need to be thrown at the larger Cabal enemies with shields. Doing so will call upon an orbital strike, scorching their defenses and killing them.
Fallen version
Several mines guarded by Fallen Brigs will appear. Destroy the mechs and defuse the mines when you can.
Vex version
Glowing Vex will start popping up. If you destroy them, they’ll drop Void Craniums (the laser beams originally seen in the Menagerie). Hit the shielded Vex Minotaurs to rip their shields so you can annihilate them with your weapons.
Obstacle Course #1
After clearing this area, run to the narrow lane leading to the far end. The platform will push you all the way to the mountain. There’s an opening here that leads to an obstacle course. Along the way, you’ll notice moving pillars and floors that act like conveyor belts. Movement buffs can also be found here to help you reach the next encounter.
