Destiny 2 -- The Presage exotic quest complete guide

The Presage is an exotic quest that you can do now in Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen. The reward at the end is the Dead Man's Tale exotic scout rifle. Here's our guide to help you out. Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen - The Presage exotic quest and the Dead Man's Tale exotic scout rifle Due to the location where The Presage exotic quest takes place, and the various "puzzle rooms," I've divided this guide into multiple sections. You can refer to the pages below for the parts that you need help with: Starting The Presage exotic quest General tips: Entering the Glykon ship, levers, and the Egregore Link buff The Electric Force Field The Trash Compactor Fighting the Scorn The last few puzzle rooms Cheesing the Locus of Communion boss The Dead Man's Tale exotic scout rifle Starting The Presage exotic quest You've gotta hand it to Bungie. The studio knows how to keep players interested thanks to the secrets and new locations in Destiny 2. In fact, Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen has one such surprise. Simply launch the Arms Dealer strike in the EDZ panel. At the very first area, you'll notice that a new doorway has opened just past the Cabal hologram. Go through the passageway and you'll eventually reach an area that looks like a helipad. The one that's further to the right has a scannable item. Once you've got that, head to the Tower and talk to Zavala. This will begin The Presage exotic quest. You'll see an icon for it once you open the Tangled Shore's map. Once you load in, you'll find yourself aboard a ship known as the Glykon. General tips: Entering the Glykon ship, levers, and the Egregore Link buff The Glykon is a gigantic space hulk that was crewed by the Cabal. Now, it's a derelict ship that's got some creepy vibes. You can't use the main entrance, so just turn around to spot some platforms. Jump across these platforms until you reach a small doorway. The Presage exotic quest, and the Glykon ship itself, have a lot of puzzle rooms. Soon, you'll be treated to some of the mechanics that will be present throughout this location. Metal grates Some areas will have metal grates that you can shoot. These will reveal pathways. Levers and electric switches Exploring the Glykon is fairly straightforward, but do take note of the levers that you spot. These will open doorways or activate certain switches. The Egregore Link Perhaps the most important mechanic is the Egregore Link. Several puzzle rooms are blocked by a deadly substance that will slowly kill your character. The only way to get past this is by getting the Egregore Link. This buff is given by blue spores that you'll encounter. Just stand close and shoot them to gain a temporary buff. Then, make your way through the walled-off section to reach the next area. Anyway, as you keep following the vents and corridors, you'll eventually reach the Electric Force Field section. The Electric Force Field There are electric force fields blocking your way. Touching it leads to death, and falling down will see your Guardian ground to bits. Oh, and from this point onwards, you can expect some Scorn baddies to show up. Take out the screebs in the first area and go to the end of the corridor. Activate the lever here. Get the Egregore Link buff from the spore. Cross the gap. You can also use the pipes to get across, but be quick about it. Cross another gap to reach the next room. Above you at the back corner, you'll find a lever. After you activate it, face towards the next area. Take note of this location because an electric switch will appear here. For now, go to the outer corridor. Cross the final gap and activate the lever. Then, go back to the previous room and shoot the electric switch. This will unlock the doorway that leads to the Trash Compactor. The Trash Compactor There's a switch at the end of this corridor. Go ahead and activate it. If you've just reached this area for the first time, then two dozen screebs will spawn. Eliminate them since the machinery will slowly crush you. Your goal here is to look for metal grates on the floor. Three of these have lit panels (white lights) that are initially hidden until you shoot the grates. Destroying the three lit panels prevents the walls from crushing you. When you're done, check one of the grates for an opening. Jump down to do battle with the Scorn. Fighting the Scorn Continue along the path until you encounter the Scorn army. You'll even catch a glimpse of the boss, the Locus of Communion. Several mobs will attack you in the first room. These include chieftains, ravagers, and stalkers. This, and the next room, are both Darkness zones, so try your best to survive. In the next section, you'll be up against two Scorn abominations with around as much health as a raid boss. I genuinely couldn't nuke them even at 1,311 PL, and I had to play more defensively. Anyway, try to take care of the regular mobs first (i.e., chieftains, stalkers, raiders, and ravagers). Likewise, look out for any screebs that might spawn on the platform. After clearing the mobs, focus your DPS on one abomination (I used a sniper rifle here). When one abomination dies, it'll spawn a complete set of adds. That means you'll be doing some extra clean-up. Kill the second abomination to finish the encounter. When you're done, marvel at a view of outer space. Oh, and you'll see that there are platforms as well. Hop on the platforms and make your way around the Glykon's side until you reach the hangar. Jump above the ship and ledges to reach the doorway. We'll soon complete the last few puzzle rooms in The Presage exotic quest. The last few puzzle rooms The last few puzzle rooms in The Presage exotic quest make use of all the mechanics you've seen before: levers, electric switches, and Egregore Link/spores. In the first room, activate the lever to open the door near it. You can get the Egregore Link buff here. Next up is another puzzle room. After you activate the lever, take note of the electric switch across from you. Shooting it will disable the electric force field. Activate two more levers and jump back down. A little nook near the electric switch has an Egregore Link spore that lets you get past the icky substance. For the next puzzle room, do the following: Activate the lever. Destroy the turret. Shoot the electric switch. Get the Egregore Link buff. Jump down the crevice near the lever (not the one with the trapdoor) to reach the mini-maze. In the mini-maze, simply shoot the metal grates and watch out for screebs. You'll find another Egregore Link spore here that lets you reach the next area. There are a couple of corridors that you'll go through, but you'll eventually reach the final puzzle room. Towards the end, you'll find a lever and a blocked pathway. After pulling the lever, go back to the way you came from. Shoot the electric switch on the wall. Take the Egregore Link buff at the entrance of this puzzle room, then go through the door that the switch opened. You should see another Egregore Link spore here that'd let you reach the end. Anyway, we're almost there. You'll notice a spot where you can drop a raid banner. That's because it's time to fight the Locus of Communion boss.
