While the spotlight is on phones and tablets, DFC found that PC gaming has a commanding lead over everything else since 2013 and will continue to hold it until 2018. They also believe the combined sales on consoles will match sales on phones and tablets, and on PC, while the market for dedicated handhelds will shrink.

DFC also believes that much of that growth will be driven by eSports. This is a demographic that skews male, and is willing to buy games and expensive gaming PCs and equipment.
