With a possible announcement of a new Diablo 3 expansion this year, Diablo: IncGamers looks at the evidence for its new setting and possible new class.
The guys over at Diablo: IncGamers always do their research, and a new guest article from long time visitor Nobbie investigates expansion possibilities based on evidence that’s surfaced from Blizzard over the past couple of years.
Based on his research, it looks like the next expansion could take place on the Skovos Isles (which consist of four islands, Philios, Skovos, Lycander, Skartara.) The Skovos Isles designs we have seen in previous artwork show a civilisation influenced by Greek and Roman architecture and were actually mentioned in Act 5 of Diablo 3; where there’s a mention of a Horadrim expedition which has failed to return.
And the next class? Well according to Nobbie’s research, there is a possibility another Druid-like class could be introduced and could end up being an Amazon/Druid/Shaman hybrid. It’s unlikely to be an exact copy of these original classes as Blizzard has previously stated that they didn’t want to revisit any of the classes that have appeared in the previous games.
The article is a great read and shows exactly how he’s arrived at his conclusions. Let the speculation begin.
