DOOM’s timed demo will be available for a little bit longer than first thought. Bethesda have announced on twitter that the demo offer will extend beyond the initial deadline of one week.

Exactly how long the DOOM demo will be up for now is not clear. In reply to a query about what “extending” meant, Bethesda’s twitter-er-in-chief said “This was initially for E3 week only. But we figured, what the hell.”

You can download the demo from the link above; it features the very first level of the game. Time-limiting the demo in the first place feels like a bit of an odd decision, especially for those of us who remember the glory days of abundant game demos.
