Dying Light screens are aptly named

Dying Light - 09

You’ll have weapons, but obviously, Real Men will punch zombies in the face. Because Real Men are silly.

These new screens of Techland’s Dying Light are pretty well-named, as they contain both some pretty day/night cycle lighting effects and lots of dying.

Dying Light is an open-world, free-running, zombie-evader. During the daytime, your rotting foes are slow and pretty easy to sprint past, so this is the best time for you to go scavenging for supplies, setting up traps, and looking for other survivors to help. At night, though? At night, they turn into the fast zombies of recent movies, capable of sprinting and climbing after you. That’s when you’re going to need to employ those traps you set up, and be very, very careful about letting the zombies spot you.

As Dying Light originally started life as a Dead Island sequel, you probably won’t be surprised to know that it’s also got four-player co-op and weapon crafting. It looks a damn sight more serious than Dead Island, too; if Techland nail the mechanics and the atmosphere, this might well be one to watch.

Screens below. Dying Light will see the light of day in February 2015.
