EA files ‘SimOcean’ trademark

EA is already publishing the next Maxis-developed SimCity game, but now seems to have the taste for other Sim titles too. A trademark for ‘SimOcean’ has been spotted (image below), filed by Electronic Arts on 25 April this year.
Of course this doesn’t automatically mean a brand new water-based game is being developed. It could be planned as DLC for the new SimCity, or EA may simply be hoovering up a few Sim-based trademarks to hold on to.
You can read our preview of the forthcoming SimCity here, and try to imagine whether it would be a better game with an oceanic add-on.
