EA Plans To ‘Perfect’ Star Wars MMO Over Ten Years

Electronic Arts plans to run its MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic for ten years, confirming it wants to ‘really perfect the product’.
Speaking at the UBS Annual Media and Communications Conference in New York, EA’s CFO Eric Brown said: “Our assumptions for break-even and profitability are not seven-digit subscribers. We think we can run and operate a very successful and profitable MMO at different levels.
“The key thing here is to really perfect the product. We’re shooting for an extremely high quality game experience. We view this as a ten-year opportunity.”
Prior to the launch of World of Warcraft, Blizzard also revealed a ten year plan was being put in place.
The Old Republic is scheduled for a Spring 2011 launch.
