The decision to change the name came to “better reflect the studio’s culture [and] identity” according to a press release.

Visceral Games was responsible for Dead Space and is currently working on Dante’s Inferno, Dead Space: Extraction and two other unannounced titles.

Part of the EA family of development studios which include Maxis, EALA and Pandemic, Visceral Games is under the guidance of vice president Nick Earl who manages all games labels in California.

“For the past two years, we have adopted a new culture that prizes excellence above all else. Primal action is the beating heart of the studio and now our new name reflects that.”

I might change my name to Candice.
