EA Star Wars titles to be shown at April event, Battlefront 2 likely

An upcoming Star Wars event in Orlando will include an appearance from EA, giving the latest on their many related games. Star Wars Celebration Orlando runs from 13-16 April and takes place, surprisingly enough, in Orlando Florida; at the Orange County Convention Center.

EA have at least three “projects” that could appear. Most likely is Battlefront 2, which has already been confirmed as in development and scheduled for release later this year (the usual September-October period). An early ‘teaser’ trailer or something of that nature is not out of the question.

The development progress of the other two titles is less well known, so those are harder to predict. Visceral Games are working on an as-yet-untitled Star Wars game, said to be set between Episode III and IV. Production was confirmed in 2013, Amy Hennig joined as creative director in 2014, and Jade Raymond’s Motive Studios were brought on board in 2015. It’s reportedly due in 2018.

In addition, Respawn are making a third person action game in the Star Wars universe. However, since this was only announced in mid-2016, the chances of further information being released at this stage seem fairly slim.
