Paradox Interactive and Kerberos Productions have announced Sword of the Stars II.Sword of the Stars II reacquaints players with the six races present in the first game and throws in the Suul’ka, an ancient race responsible for “tampering” with the other races. The Suul’ka – despite presumably being on the register – have “unique drive technology” which is going to make them interesting to experiment with, but it’s still all about making the game simple to play yet hard to master.”Sword of the Stars 2 will be far more than just a sequel where the graphics have been tuned up and a new unit or two thrown in,” says Martin Cirulis, the CEO of Kerberos. “Instead players can look forward to a whole new game that is based on the central SotS experience, but willing and able to grow beyond it to offer even more in terms of strategy, tactics and gameplay.”Sword of the Stars II is due out sometime in 2011. We suspect we’ll be hearing a lot more about it as 2010 draws on.
