Kongregate CEO Jim Greer has revealed that he is stepping down from the company in a surprisingly intimate post in the official forums. Jim explained that he plans to go into politics.

Jim will still be in Kongregate in a limited capacity as CTO, with his co-founder – and sister – Emily Greer taking over as the head honcho.

Jim’s post revealed some details on how far Kongregate came when they started and how much Emily was a part of it since its inception.

Kongregate is a browser-based games platform, hosting games made in Flash, html, Unity3D and Shockwave. The company was acquired by Gamestop in 2011.
