Blighted Lord boss fight: Normal mode
Let’s say you want to duke it out with the Blighted Lord immediately. Go to the chamber to the right and you’ll encounter the White Priestess of the Fount. Suddenly, the final boss appears. Here are some tips.
Loadout suggestions
I went with the following:
- Skills – Gerrod, Forsaken Fellwyrm, Knight Captain Julius, Western Merchant, Incompetent Sinner, Umbral Knight.
- Relics (20/20) – Fretia’s Ring, Ricorus’ Ring, Priestess’ Doll, White Priestess’ Earrings, Soiled Prayer Beads, Royal Aegis Crest, Weathered Necklace, Immortal’s Crest, Nymphilia’s Ring, Holy Spring Water, and Ancient Dragon Claw.
These gave me a ton of HP, several healing prayers (with faster activation), HP regen from kills and dealing damage, and boosts to attacks made while airborne.
Blighted Lord abilities
As for the skills, I chose these due to how the Blighted Lord boss fight progresses. The boss has the following abilities:
- Arm Smash – The boss will smash its limbs on the ground, dealing tremendous damage.
- Ground Tear – This monstrosity lifts one arm and causes spikes to travel along the ground.
- Black Hole Bomb – The boss will scream and a singularity will form in its chest, exploding and dealing huge damage.
- Fireball Fish Summon – The Blighted Lord will constantly summon those floating fish-like creatures. Their projectiles can hit for over 150 points of damage.
With an upgraded Gerrod skill, though, you shouldn’t have too many issues. By doing two swings in mid-air, you should be able to whomp the Fireball Fish mobs. Likewise, try to hit the boss’ heart since it’s the weak point. Don’t forget to pop your Forsaken Fellwyrm since the mist can hit the boss’ heart and the other mobs multiple times. This will help break its poise meter while charging your SP Gauge too. You can then use Knight Captain Julius’ Last Rites.
With the Blighted Lord defeated, you’ll be able to purify its corpse. This leads to a scene where Lily has no choice but to sacrifice herself to keep the White Priestess alive. This nets you the Blight ending.
However, there’s still another outcome if you’ve collected the Stone Tablets. It leads to the second phase of this boss fight which we’ll discuss in the next part of our guide.
