Knight Captain Julius boss fight

Let’s discuss the Knight Captain Julius boss fight in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights‘ Ruined Keep level.

Knight Captain Julius has several attacks, and all of these could be parried. The problem, however, is that flubbing your parry will ensure that you’re in for a world of hurt. His abilities can easily take a chunk of your HP.

These abilities include lunging stabs with the lance, a backstep followed by crashing on the ground, and an AoE explosion.

Your best bet is to keep your distance, firing projectiles or using familiars (i.e., Dark Witch Eleine, Hoenir, Western Merchant, or Castle Town Maiden).

Melee attacks (i.e., Gerrod) will still drop him a lot faster, but you need to be careful.

After defeating the boss, you’ll receive the following:

  • Knight Captain Julius – This skill allows you to stab multiple times, and you can move forward slightly as you’re attacking.
  • Dash – When you press the right trigger/RT while moving and keep it held down, Julius will carry Lily and speed up her movement.
  • Piercing Spectral Lance – While dashing, press the “X” button on your gamepad so Julius can unleash a powerful thrust with the lance. This will break the weaker pustulant walls. However, if you dash for a longer period (i.e., two seconds), you’ll gain more momentum denoted by red flashes. This allows you to break stronger/larger pustulant walls.

Anyway, let’s talk about what we should do with our new abilities in the next part of our Ruined Keep guide.
