The Epic Games Store’s free game of the week is a little different this time around. The digital storefront launched its Epic Games Store Mega Sale today, an annual month-long event featuring top game deals and free giveaways. The Epic Game Store sale’s first free game is NBA 2K21, which sports fans can grab until May 27. Just like last week, however, the store has decided to keep the next freebie a secret.

The latest NBA 2K game gives virtual basketball fans an experience like never before with all new graphics and features. NBA 2K21 features several modes, including MyCAREER, which takes players on a journey to joining the NBA. During MyTEAM, players can assemble their dream teams to take on events and challenges every day. There’s also the Neighborhood, which allows players to freely explore and participate in streetball games. Finally, MyGM gives players the power to manage a league and make some of the most important basketball decisions.

As for next week’s free title, fans will have to wait until Thursday to find out. The Epic Games Store has teased an image of a closed vault and a countdown until next week’s reveal. For now, players can catch a glimpse of the sale’s discounted offerings in a trailer. The video features scenes from Cyberpunk 2077, Oddworld Soulstorm, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and many more, so there’s plenty of choices for all gamers.

Mega discounts

From now until June 17, the Epic Games Store Mega Sale will give away a surprise free title every week. But, that’s not all the sale has to offer. Fans can get up to 75% off select games during the sale, plus some $10 USD Epic Games Coupons. According to the announcement, these coupons can be used “on any full game purchase $14.99 [USD] and up.” The best part is that every time you use a coupon, you’ll get another one! Finally, there are some in-game deals exclusive to PC players, starting with a free Fortnite Challenge Pack. It’s worth keeping an eye on The Epic Games Store to see what else the vault holds.
