ESPN Teams Up With Playdom For Social Games Blitz

US cable sports network ESPN has announced a deal with social network games developer Playdom.

The plan is “to develop ESPN-branded sports genre games for social media platforms,” one of which (according to this twitter post) is rumoured to be ‘ESPNville.’

Whether this is just a ridiculous working title is unknown at this stage, but maybe the game really will be a sports-based twist on Farmville. If that’s the case, perhaps we can all look forward to being spammed with messages like “[Friend] has discovered some steroids for his baseball team in ESPNville!”

Or perhaps not.The ESPN/Playdom games are reported to be coming this autumn, to such places as Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, ESPN.com and Playdom.com.
