EverQuest 2 has seen ‘amazing growth’ since going free-to-play

Since switching to a free-to-play (F2P) model, logins for EverQuest 2 are up over 40%. That’s according to Sony Online Entertainment CEO John Smedley who, via Twiter, has stated that the game has seen “amazing growth”, has had “a lot of new subs” and items purchases have increased “300%”.
Smedley added that he was pleased with the growth, especially considering that it has come at a time that has seen “some really good competition hit the market.” SWTOR, perhaps?
