Everspace gets a release date and final Early Access update released

Rockfish’ rogue-like space game Everspace will soon be launching after a few years in development.

A release date has now been set for 26 May and the final update before launch takes the game to v0.7. This latest update adds a mysterious alien race known as “The Ancients”. These technologically advanced aliens have left ruins behind which also hold transporters which act as shortcuts for players allowing them to skip locations on the map. The Ruins also contain Glyphs which work in a similar way to Sub-Routines which affect the gameplay. Players will have to confront the aliens to get their hands on these.

Another addition is functional cockpit displays and there’s now a component damage overview and locked targets information on the HUD. The Colonial Gunship also has a new Missile Turret which fires homing projectiles.

The game has really shaped up while in Early Access over the past year and it’s looking quite promising.
