Since its release in May, fans of Evil Dead have sunk their teeth into the surprisingly fun title. The Evil Dead franchise has plenty of wacky and horrifying elements that make it perfect for a game. And it makes plenty of sense to see more content from Army of Darkness make its debut in this update. In this film, Ash was transported back in time to the Middle Ages, so you can expect to see plenty of content to reflect that time period.

Welcome to Castle Kandar

Evil Dead: The Game‘s Army of Darkness update brings Castle Kandar to the game. Within this map are numerous other locations like the Arthurian Outpost and Fort Gort. If you’re a fan of the film, you should be able to pick out plenty of references. Judging by the trailer, the castle seems like the perfect place to face a horde of Deadites. Players also have two weapons to try out — the Mace and the Explosive crossbow. The Mace is slow but certainly packs a punch, and the Explosive Crossbow can easily take out small groups of enemies. Along with the update, two new outfits for Ash are available for purchase as well as the Medieval Bundle, which comes with two more outfits from Army of Darkness.

The second big addition in Evil Dead: The Game‘s Army of Darkness update is the Exploration mode. Here, players can enter each of the game’s maps in single-player. You’ll have free roam to explore each map as much as you want. This could be useful for anyone who wants to get to know these locations better. Additionally, it might be a bit easier to check out the smaller details on each map, though you’ll still have Deadites to fight so watch out.

Take on the Army of Darkness

Evil Dead: The Game is already a title that most fans are more than happy with. But with the Army of Darkness update, Evil Dead: The Game has plenty of new areas for players to explore. If you’ve wanted an excuse to strap that chainsaw hand back on, be sure to check it out. Evil Dead: The Game‘s Army of Darkness update is available now.
