Evil Genius 2 World Domination Details Henchmen And Evil Lair Plans (2)

Following a debut trailer that gave us a glimpse of the evil plots to come, Evil Genius 2: World Domination dove deeper with a development update shortly after. Now, Rebellion is back with another video update. Lead designer Rich Edwards and producer Ash Tregay discussed more about the new features and what players can expect from the sequel.

Plans in motion

Since the first game in 2004, plenty of evildoers have been waiting for a sequel. To deliver the best experience, the team at Rebellion has been hard at work trying to improve every facet of the first game. For those new to the franchise, Tregay and Edwards went into detail about the general gameplay loop that awaits. From creating your own evil lair to dominate the world to making sure your cover is not blown by the authorities through traps and gadgets, Evil Genius 2 looks set to be everything a mastermind would want and then some.

It is not only the good guys getting the secret agents. Your evil genius has access to dastardly henchmen as well. While the first game handed you more experts as you progress, Evil Genius 2 is shaking things up. Instead of them already swearing fealty, new henchmen will be bosses that you need to recruit. By fulfilling certain conditions, they can then be persuaded to your cause. The rank-and-file minions will also get some improvements.

No longer just peons meant to be fodder, they will have randomized looks and even backstories. Perhaps you will think twice now when they fall prey to the forces of good; who said being evil was easy?

Evil Genius 2 will once again feature the awesome work of James Hannigan. Having worked on the original, we can look forward to more amazing music this time around. As for the main villains in charge, Rebellion has so far only talked about Red Ivan and Maximilian. Two more evil masterminds are still yet to be revealed, and more will come soon.

Evil Genius 2: World Domination will release sometime in 2020.
