Bethesda has been known for releasing “creation kits” behind their major titles. These kits are the same level designers that the games are built on and allow players to creat mods for the respective game. It seems Fallout 4 is no different, with the creation kit going into open beta today on PC.

Check out a video concerning the creation kit below.

The creation kit is 100% free and Bethesda claims this revision is the easiest to access yet. Bethesda even created a convieient wiki to get you jump started.

You can download it via the Bethesda.net launcher or by following the instructions below:

    • Log into Steam
    • Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
    • Select Settings
    • Select Betas
    • A drop down menu will appear. Select beta
    • Select OK
    • Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update
    • When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library

The creation kit is currently only open to PC, but will release on Xbox One in May and PlayStation 4 in June. Check out more details here.
