The previously detailed PC patch 1.5.0 for Far Cry 4 has been released by Ubisoft today, but players are still reporting problems with stuttering and other issues. It’s a 1.3GB download (through uPlay, anyway) and reportedly attempts to address the following:

  • Added 21:9 aspect ratio support
  • Added Russian text and subtitles to worldwide game version
  • Fixed an issue with aim assist
  • Fixed an issue with grappling if aim button was remapped on another key
  • Fixed an issue with mouse input
  • Fixed an issue with movement key binding on mouse buttons
  • Fixed an issue with Uplay invites in Steam version
  • Fixed various Controls issues
  • Fixed various Graphic issues
  • Fixed various IGE issues
  • Fixed various Session Browser issues
  • Fixed various UI issues
  • NVIDIA graphics preset was removed
  • Reduced performance drop impact during streaming

Players over at NeoGaf are suggesting the “same old stuttering” problems persist. A complaint which is echoed at the Ubisoft forums as well. Someone over there is still getting the black screen crash on loading.

By the sounds of things, Nvidia’s much-anticipated “Hairworks” is still missing too. Though the pre-release patch notes for 1.5.0 never said they were going to implement that, so it’s perhaps not a huge surprise.

TXAA is apparently still rather broken as well. But PCSS (Percentage-Closer Soft Shadows) should work now on the relevant Nvidia cards.
